This course looks at the work of women authors in detective fiction from the 1930's to the present, examining the early use and appropriation of this 'masculine' genre's conventions by authors like Agatha Christie and Dorothy L Sayers and later feminist strategies of empowerment. Prerequisite: Full year of 200-level English
