This six credit course establishes a student as a key member of a community-based research team developing; implementing and evaluating a psychiatric patient transfer protocol based on initial development and standardization of communication at the clinical handoff. The student will be involved in data analysis of an administrative database to describe the current process; the development of a method and instrument to determine clinician satisfaction of transfer protocol and its analysis.
