Learners will acquire a conceptual framework with which to respond to developing global issues by studying how ideologies originate and their effect on identity and citizenship. The course will focus on classical and modern liberalism; the viability of liberalism; and challenges of communism; totalitarianism; fascism; and Nazism; including economic systems. High School Equivalent: Social Studies 30-1 Prerequisite: Social Studies 20-1 or consent of the Department. Prerequisite or Co-requisite: ENGL 090 or ELA 30-1; or consent of the Department.
