This course looks at the work of women authors in detective fiction from the 1930's to the present; examining the early use and appropriation of this 'masculine' genre's conventions by authors like Agatha Christie and Dorothy L Sayers and later feminist strategies of empowerment. Prerequisite: Full year of 200-level English
